Erie Home is great. The whole roof installation process was easy and fast. My new roof was installed within a week of getting an estimate and the roof was completed in 1 day. The quality of the products they install are top notch and made to last. Most importantly is the service after the sale. Erie's roof warranty is fantastic and transferable to a new owner if you decide to sell within 11 years of having your roof replaced with them. They stand behind their products and service. An new Erie roof will definitely add value to your home. You get what you pay for with Erie. Thanks again, Erie.

We had an issue with getting our solar panels removed and reinstalled. Originally the company that installed them said we would get one removal/install for free when we had to get a new roof. But when it came time to replace the roof they wanted more than $9000, which put us over what we were able to pay. Erie refunded our money. If you are going to install Solar Panels GET A NEW ROOF FIRST.

We had a wonderful experience with Erie Home in every aspect. The salesperson who we met first was great & informative, not pushy. Then the scheduling and communication was super easy. When the guys came to do the work they were very respectful of our property, did a great job and cleaned up. They went over the whole property with magnets to make sure all the nails were cleaned up. I highly recommend using Erie Home if you are looking for a quality roof.

My husband and I saw an ad on social media. I was kind of shopping around for a while. Erie Home was the most appealing. They had a lot of different choices in roofing, materials and financing options. We left a comment online showing our interest and they called us right away. They were able to come to our home and give us a free estimate. They answered all of our questions, explained everything in detail. We set it all up and in no time at all we have our new roof installed. They were very kind and professional. They were respectful of my property. I am very pleased with the outcome. My family and I will sleep peaceful knowing that we will no longer have a leaking roof and that it is under warranty. I am very thankful.

Scheduling was "on it" and kept in communication with me through a few minor weather delays. The crew removed my old roof, replaced rotted wood and installed the new roof in 1.5 days. They worked constantly and were very careful through the installation. They did an excellent job cleaning up too! The house looks great!

Ben's response time to our roofing problem was OUTSTANDING! (We had a 6-foot section of ridge vent blow off our roof - causing a 6 inch x 6 foot opening in the roof.) He made a solid, temporary repair to get us through until we could be worked into the schedule. We had the entire length of the ridge vent replaced with a wider vent, and had the new ridge vent shingles installed with the prevailing winds. (The original shingles were installed against the prevailing winds.) The wife and I were very pleased, and would definitely recommend ROOFX Roofing! Thanks Ben!

Called ROOFX to come look for a leak in our roof. Ben was both professional and knowledgeable. He was able to quickly identify the likely issue and took time to explain it to me. Was not charged for the visit and repair estimate.

The RoofX company recently replaced our roof. The job was professionally done by multiple workers, and the job was completed in just one day. Ben Boller, the project manager, was always on site and made sure all work was done correctly. All materials were removed, and the work site was cleared of any debris. It was like our roof was magically replaced. Great job!

Jackson provided top quality service. The roofing crew began quickly on the scheduled begin date. The work was completed within 2 days. There was a surprise rain shower on the morning of the second day but the crew had done a good job of keeping the house water proof. Jackson personally checked the roof to make sure there was no problems. He answered all questions that I had and was professional in keeping me informed of the roof installation process from beginning to end. On the third day he did his final inspection and resolved any issues that I had. I am satisfied with the high quality work and the products.

How Should I Prepare for a Roof Installation?

Installing a new roof is a significant investment and an essential step in maintaining the integrity and appearance of your home. Proper preparation can ensure the process goes smoothly and minimize potential disruptions or damage to your property. Here are some detailed steps to help you prepare for your new roof installation.

1. Choose the Right Contractor

Research:

  • Check online: TGUC gathers the best roofing contractors across the US so you can easily locate one near you.
  • Get Recommendations: Ask friends, family, and neighbors for referrals.
  • Check Reviews: Look for online reviews and ratings from past customers.
  • Verify Credentials: Ensure the contractor is licensed, insured, and bonded.

Estimates:

  • Get Multiple Quotes: Obtain estimates from several contractors to compare prices and services.
  • Understand the Scope: Make sure the estimate includes details about materials, labor, and any additional costs.

2. Schedule the Installation

Time of Year:

  • Weather Considerations: Schedule the installation during a time of year with the most favorable weather conditions to avoid delays.

Personal Schedule:

  • Availability: Choose a time when you can be available to address any issues that might arise during the installation process.

3. Prepare Your Home Exterior

Yard and Landscaping:

  • Move Vehicles: Park your cars away from the house to avoid potential damage from falling debris.
  • Clear the Area: Remove patio furniture, grills, and other outdoor items to create a safe working environment.
  • Trim Trees: Cut back overhanging branches to provide easy access for workers and equipment.

Protection:

  • Cover Plants: Use tarps to cover plants and shrubs to protect them from falling debris and dust.

4. Prepare Your Home Interior

Attic:

  • Clear the Space: Remove or cover any valuable items stored in the attic, as debris and dust can fall through the roof during installation.

Rooms Below:

  • Protect Belongings: Cover furniture and other items with plastic sheets to shield them from dust and debris.
  • Remove Wall Decorations: Take down pictures, mirrors, and other wall-mounted items to prevent them from falling due to vibrations.

5. Ensure Safety

Children and Pets:

  • Plan Ahead: Arrange for children and pets to stay with friends or family during the installation to keep them safe from noise and hazards.

Neighbors:

  • Inform Them: Let your neighbors know about the upcoming roofing work so they can prepare for any noise and possible disruptions.

6. Communication with the Contractor

Point of Contact:

  • Designate Someone: Have a designated point of contact, whether it’s yourself or someone else, to handle questions and concerns during the installation.

Regular Updates:

  • Stay Informed: Request regular updates from the contractor to stay informed about the progress and any issues that arise.

7. Plan for Noise and Disruptions

Noise:

  • Expect Noise: Be prepared for significant noise levels during the installation process, which can last from early morning to late afternoon.

Work Hours:

  • Know the Schedule: Confirm the expected work hours with your contractor and plan your daily activities accordingly.

8. Verify Delivery of Materials

Check Materials:

  • Delivery: Ensure that all roofing materials are delivered on time and in good condition before the installation begins.

Storage:

  • Secure Area: Designate a secure area for storing the materials, preferably close to the work site but out of the way of daily activities.

9. Prepare for Cleanup

Debris Removal:

  • Plan: Discuss debris removal and cleanup with your contractor to ensure your property will be left in good condition.

Dumpster:

  • Location: If a dumpster is required, decide on its placement in advance to avoid blocking driveways or access points.

10. Final Inspection

Completion:

  • Inspect the Work: Once the installation is complete, conduct a thorough inspection with the contractor to ensure everything meets your expectations.

Warranties and Guarantees:

  • Document: Make sure you receive all warranty and guarantee information in writing, along with any necessary maintenance instructions.

Conclusion

Preparing for a new roof installation involves careful planning and communication to ensure the process is efficient and stress-free. By taking these steps, you can protect your home and belongings, ensure the safety of your family and pets, and set the stage for a successful roofing project. Remember, a well-prepared homeowner is a contractor’s best partner, leading to a smoother installation and a durable, high-quality roof that will protect your home for years to come.

How to Maintain Your Roof

Maintaining your roof is crucial for keeping your home safe and structurally sound. Avoiding these can lead to more costly mistakes. Here are some tips to help you take care of your roof:

Regular Inspections: Schedule routine inspections at least twice a year, preferably in the spring and fall. Look for signs of damage such as cracked or missing shingles, leaks, or areas where water may be pooling.

Clean Gutters: Clogged gutters can lead to water backup, which can damage your roof and cause leaks. Clean your gutters regularly, especially after storms, to ensure proper drainage.

Trim Overhanging Branches: Trim back any tree branches that overhang your roof. Branches can scratch the surface of the roof and provide pathways for pests like squirrels or raccoons to access your home.

Check Flashing: Inspect the flashing around chimneys, vents, and skylights for signs of damage or deterioration. Replace any damaged flashing to prevent water leaks.

Remove Debris: Clear any debris, such as leaves or twigs, from your roof. Debris can hold moisture and accelerate roof deterioration.

Inspect Attic: Check your attic for signs of water damage, such as stains on the ceiling or walls. Address any leaks promptly to prevent further damage.

Address Moss and Algae: If you notice moss or algae growing on your roof, consider using a solution recommended by a professional to clean and prevent further growth. Do not pressure wash, as this can damage shingles.

Repair Damage Promptly: If you spot any damage during your inspections, such as loose or missing shingles, cracked caulking, or damaged flashing, repair it as soon as possible to prevent water infiltration.

Ventilation: Ensure your roof has proper ventilation to prevent moisture buildup in the attic, which can lead to mold growth and damage to the roof structure.

Professional Maintenance: Consider hiring a professional roofing contractor for periodic inspections and maintenance. They can identify issues early and provide expert repairs or replacements when needed. AT TGUC, we have hundred of roofing contractors available in your area.
